Burial of Daily Asset Editor’s Wife, Son Set for May 29–30

The burial of the late wife and son of Mr. Danusa Ocholi, Deputy Editor-in-chief of the Daily Asset Newspaper, comes up on Thursday and Friday this week.

According to the burial programme released by the family, Ocholi’s late  first wife, Mrs. Otini Violet Ekeyi Ocholi will be laid to rest at her country home, Idah, on Friday, May 30th while that of his senior son, Victor Eleojo Ocholi will take place at Egume in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi state on Thursday, 29.

The sad incident of the veteran journalist’s losses occurred within one month.

Mr Alexander Attayi Ocholi, a member of the family in a statement, said the journalist’s first son died in “circumstances that are still not clear” at his place of work in Lagos.

Born in Makurdi, Benue state on June 25, 1990, he died on April 16, at 34. Victor’s mother on the other hand died on May 18 at the FMC, Jabi Abuja at 64.

A retired medical personnel with the Kogi State government, Mrs Ocholi had advanced diploma in Accident and Emergency from the University of Benin, Edo state.

She is survived by her son, David Ojochegbe Ocholi; while Mrs Ejura Eunice Ikani and Mr Amanyi Ekeyi are the siblings.

“In Otini Violet Ekeyi we had a mother and a caring and compassionate professional nurse. Victor was a scion of the family. We will miss them greatly. May God Almighty accept their souls in Jesus name,” the statement noted.

Meanwhile, the management of the Daily Asset Newspaper has condoled with its vibrant editor, Danusa Ocholi over the loss and urged him to take heart.

The management also prayed God to grant the souls of his departed wife and son eternal rest.
