Bye Election: Gov Alia, Police Commissioner Assure Electorates of Violent Free Polls

Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, and the Commissioner of Police in charge of the state, CP Emmanuel Adesina, have assured the electorate of Guma 1 State Constituency, Benue State of a violence free polls, which is slated for Saturday.

The duo who gave the assurance at the Government House Makurdi during security meeting, said the government and security agencies are prepared and ready to protect lives and property of the citizenry.

Briefing Journalists after security meeting, Governor Alia, stated this: ” we are quite prepared and we want the people to know that a level playing ground is going to be given to all the political parties. Peace is going to reign as we are not a lawless people. It is our hope that everything plays out very well.”

He called on those creating anxiety and tension in the minds of the electorate to desist forth with, urging eligible voters to come out at their various polling units and exercise their franchise, saying that doing so in orderly and peaceful manner is the best way.

Also responding, the Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Adesina, assured that his Men are ready and prepared for the election, warning those planning to disrupt the election to have a rethink.
