CAG Inaugurates 2000 Seedlings Plantation Campaign

Climate Action Group Sokoto with the support of State Ministry of Environment and the Educational Secretary (ES) of Dange shuni local government has Inaugurated tree seedlings plantation campaign at Bissalam Primary School of Dange/Shuni local government area of Sokoto state.

The exercise was witnessed by the chairman of the local government and his vice, Ardon Shuni, educational secretary, former deputy speaker of the state house of assembly, principals of primary and secondary School among other dignitiries. During the occasion some economic trees were distributed to some guest.

Out of the 2000 tree seedlings each primary and secondary School within the local government as said by the educational secretary will be given 50 seedlings to plant, some will be given to community members to plant in their various houses or places while the remaining trees we will be planted at places in need within the local government area.

In his speech at the occasion, the Secretary of Climate Action Group Sokoto in person of Amb. Shafiu Aminu reiterated their commitment towards achieving the vision of the organization of having an eco-friendly world where both the present and future generations will enjoy, protect and have a healthy environment for sustainable development through creating of awareness, sensitization, mobilization and empowering young people to take a positive actions for global climate justice.
