CALABAR CARNIVAL DRY RUN BEGINS

The Calabar carnival, a yearly cultural event which holds every December to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the people kicked off Sunday.

However, the designated roads marked out for the event were barricade in the afternoon thereby denying motorist access.

The whole Street were beaming with light and life, as the trains and dancers in colourful attires in all the trains moving in convoys, all the trucks with musical equipment.

Fun seekers were supporting with cheers on both sides of the road. The carnival proper starts December.

In a related development, the Munene of Efut, His Royal Majesty Prof. Itam Hogan Itam, ‘Nyom Nnankor 1’ celebrated his one year with Thanksgiving at the Presbyterian Church Anantigha, Calabar over the weekenf.
