A cleric, Rev. Dawuda Jakawa, the Chairman, Regional Church Council (RCC), of Church Of Christ In Nation (COCIN), has urged Christians to be the light of the world as they celebrate Christmas.
The Cleric gave the charge on Monday in Jos at the Christmas carols of COCIN, Local Church Council(LCC), Du in Jos South Local Government Area.
Jakawa, who spoke in line of the carol’s theme titled ‘Light up the World’ said light was introduced in to the world through Jesus Christ, to bring salvation to the world.
“We are in an era where light is required, Jesus came because the world was in darkness. This is a message to mankind that we should be the light and let peace reign,” he said.
He urged the congregation to sing praises to God because heavenly blessings and favour were being released during the process, adding that peace was also assured through praises.
Earlier in his remarks, Prof. Daniel Dabi, the Chairman Planning of the carols, wished the congregation God’s blessings, grace and love during the Yuletide.
In his remarks, Nathaniel Adesina, the Resident Reverend of COCIN LCC, Du, said Christmas was more than gifts and merriment but putting Christ first in every thing Christians embarked upon.
He wished the congregation joy and happiness during the celebration and prayed for a better and prosperous 2020 for them.
