“Celebrating Nigerian Excellence: Three Women Paving the Way in STEM through TechWomen 2023”

By Daniel Edu

In a significant achievement, three Nigerian women, Adejoke Opeyemi-Ogungbire, Aderonke Sakpere, and Ebenezer Chris-Ajah, have been selected as beneficiaries of the prestigious TechWomen 2023 program. TechWomen is an initiative led by the United States aimed at advancing the rights and participation of women and girls worldwide, empowering them to realize their full potential in the technology industry.

The United States Diplomatic Mission in Nigeria celebrated these accomplished women on its official Instagram account, underscoring their remarkable achievement. Will Stevens, the US Consulate General in Nigeria, extended his congratulations to them and encouraged them to maximize their exchange experience.

The TechWomen program spans five weeks, during which emerging female leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) engage in project-based mentorships at leading tech companies based in Chicago. Participants also benefit from professional development workshops and networking events, fostering growth and collaboration in the tech sector.
