Chairman tasks Nigerians on peaceful co-existence

Alhaji Abdulrahman Maigoro, the Chairman, Keffi Local Government Council of Nasarawa State, has lauded the Emir of Keffi, Dr Shehu Chindo Yamusa 111, for promoting peace among his subjects and other Nigerians.

Maigoro made the commendation on Tuesday while speaking with newsmen after he paid a courtesy visit on the first class traditional ruler in his palace in Keffi.

He said that the emir had done a lot in the area of peace promotion, hence the need for the commendation.

The council boss pledged his continued determination to partnering with the emir, other organisations and individuals in order to continue achieving peace in the area.

Maigoro, who described Keffi as one of the most peaceful local government areas in the state, charged his subjects and other Nigerians to embrace peace and tolerate one another at all the times.

“I am here to appreciate the efforts of the emir of his continued role in peace promotion and other good initiatives in this local government.

“On my part, I will continue to do my best in ensuring peaceful co-existence among my people and other Nigerians considering the importance of peace to national development.

“As peace is priceless and non-negotiable and it is the necessary requirement for the development of every society,” he said.

Maigoro also disclosed that the ongoing construction of 30 motorised boreholes was aimed at improving on the standard of living of the people of the area and its environs.

He added that he who provides water, provides life, adding that human beings cannot sustain their lives without water, hence the need for the water project.

The council boss then restated his administration’s continued commitment to initiate peoples oriented projects that would have direct bearing on the lives of the people of the area and the country at large.
