The Agbere Community in Sagbama local Government Area of Bayelsa State has elected Chief Pastor Reid Aladei as its new paramount ruler, Amananaowei.
The election, held on June 9, 2025, at the Agbere Community Playground, was peaceful and transparent.
Chief Aladei secured 969 votes, defeating his closest rival, Chief Julius Kinluck, who garnered 902 votes.
Dr. Tarila Nikade, Chairman of the Electoral Committee (ELECO), announced the results, commending the community for their orderly conduct.
According to Dr.Nikade, Out of 2,019 accredited voters, 1,941 votes were cast, with 70 deemed void.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Pastor Reid Aladei expressed gratitude to the Agbere Community for their support, promising to lead with integrity, unity, and a focus on progress and development.
Voters praised the election as free, fair, and credible in interviews with Daybreak Newspaper.
They commended ELECO, led by Dr. Nikade, for conducting a transparent and well-organized process. The community looks forward to Chief Aladei’s reign, expecting positive change and development.
The Agbere Community, comprising four quarters – Tambiri, Kakarabiri, Tuburukunu, and Ayama – is part of the Tarakiri Kingdom. With optimism high, Chief Aladei’s leadership is expected to bring progress and unity to the community.
