As the world marks Children’s Day 2025, the Caleb Danladi Foundation (CDF) has urged concerted efforts to tackle the challenges hindering the development and rights of children in society.
Captain Caleb Danladi Bako, founder of the foundation, lamented the significant obstacles faced by many Nigerian children, including poor access to quality education, poverty, and limited opportunities for personal growth.
He reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to promoting the welfare and development of children in Kaduna State, highlighting that this year’s Children’s Day theme, “Children: Our Future and Our Responsibility,” closely aligns with the foundation’s mission to support children’s growth and success.
Captain Caleb announced plans to launch a campaign raising awareness about the dangers of children being out of school—such as increased risks of exploitation, child labor, and diminished future prospects.
Emphasizing the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education, he noted that the foundation’s STEM initiatives aim to equip children with the skills needed to compete globally and drive innovation.
“Education is key to unlocking children’s potential,” Captain Caleb said, underscoring the foundation’s provision of scholarships, mentorship, and learning materials to ensure children have the resources to succeed.
The foundation intends to expand its reach across Kaduna State and introduce new programs, including digital literacy and vocational training, to empower children and address emerging challenges.
Captain Caleb called on individuals, organizations, and government bodies to increase investment in children, stressing that such support is vital to creating a brighter future where Nigerian children can realize their full potential.
In his message to Nigerian children on this special day, he encouraged them to strive for excellence and avoid negative influences that could jeopardize their future.
