Overwhelmed by crowd, Nigeria’s Chief Justice (CJN) Tanko Muhammad has returned to his chambers, the CJN, which chairs seven outstanding governorship appeals says the chamber was too rowdy.
The congestion was caused by supporters of the states of Kano, Sokoto, Bauchi, Adamawa, Imo, Benue, and Plateau, who have stormed the premises of the apex court since Monday 6:00am.
This prompted the Supreme Court’s Director of Litigation, Ibrahim Gold to ask people with no serious business to leave the court.
Gold also directed the lead counsel and four others to be in the hall for each of the parties.
He said, “If you are not appearing as a lawyer for the appellant and respondent, please leave the hall. ”
