Claim of Buhari’s clone, ‘Jubril of Sudan’ ridiculous – Ex-presidential aide, Adesina

Must read

Former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Femi Adesina, has labeled the rumour of a Buhari clone named ‘Jubril of Sudan’ as ridiculous. Adesina revealed this in his book, “Working with Buhari: Reflections of a Special Adviser, Media and Publicity (2015 – 2023),” presented in Abuja.

The former presidential aide recalled the origin of the rumor, noting that upon Buhari’s return from a medical trip in August 2021, speculations spread that the President was replaced by a clone named Jubril of Sudan. Adesina dismissed these claims, recounting an incident when Buhari complimented him on his attire, questioning how a supposed clone would know his name and comment on his dressing.

Adesina expressed his incredulity at the unfounded stories and emphasized the President’s warm reception among the people during his return, affirming Buhari’s popularity. He detailed a moment during the ride from Murtala Muhammed Airport to the Presidential Villa, where the crowd’s overwhelming joy demonstrated their love for the President.

The book also highlights Buhari’s decisions, including his resistance to sacking CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele over 2023 election speculations and his preference for extraditing Nnamdi Kanu rather than resorting to lethal measures. Adesina’s reflections provide insights into Buhari’s leadership and the challenges faced during his tenure.
