The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has made a commitment to prioritize the welfare of military personnel under his leadership. He assured soldiers that the Army would ensure they have suitable accommodations and improved healthcare services.
During the Passing Out Parade of 6,000 Recruits of the 85 Regular Recruit Intake, Gen. Lagbaja emphasized that the Nigerian Army is dedicated to providing the best possible support for troops in terms of training, welfare, and medical care. Specifically, he mentioned plans to renovate and provide additional accommodations to address the deplorable state of existing facilities. He stressed the importance of offering soldiers quality accommodations when they are not on the frontlines, as a recognition of their sacrifices.
Furthermore, the COAS underscored efforts to enhance the medical facilities of the Nigerian Army. The goal is to ensure these facilities are well-equipped to handle any battle casualties that may arise from operational engagements. This commitment to improving troops’ living conditions and medical services reflects the Army’s dedication to its personnel’s well-being.
