The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has announced that Corps Members will soon begin receiving a new monthly allowance of **₦77,000**.

The NYSC shared this update on its official Facebook page on Tuesday, following a commissioning ceremony for a 32-seater bus donated to the Scheme by Capital Express Insurance Company.

Brigadier General Ahmed revealed that the new allowance payment arrangements had been finalised, reiterating his administration’s commitment to prioritising Corps Members’ welfare.

Transportation Support

During the event, held at the NYSC headquarters in Abuja, the DG highlighted that the donated bus would alleviate transportation challenges for Corps Members and staff within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Acknowledgment and Partnerships

Ahmed expressed appreciation to Capital Express Insurance Company for their support. He commended their longstanding partnership with the NYSC and acknowledged the role of such collaborations in enhancing the Scheme’s operations.

Speaking at the event, the CEO of Capital Express Insurance, Mr. Matthew Ogwezhi, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the NYSC. He described the donation as a product of their enduring relationship with the Scheme and promised to explore additional avenues for assistance in 2025.

The announcement of the increased allowance has been met with anticipation, as it signals improved welfare for Corps Members nationwide.
