Dangote Completes Electric Powered Borehole, Sets To Build Sec. School For Host immunity In Kogi

The Dangote Cement Plc Obajana on Monday Layed a foundation stone for the construction of a secondary school and the inauguration of an Electric Powered Borehole for Oyo Community at Obajana in Kogi State.

“The Africa’s top philanthropist Aliko Dangote walked off yet another royal accolades for his business acumen and efforts to bring all Nigerians together.”

The Baalo of Oyo, HRH, Oba Solomon Obahawu made this remarks during the Foundation Laying Ceremony for the construction of a secondary school and the debut of a newly dug borehole by Dangote Cement Plc.

The Monarch said he has observed that Alhaji Dangote has been uniting Nigerians by ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed in his/her businesses adding “Obajana communities are the biggest beneficiaries of Mr. Dangote detribalized attributes.”

“Every ethnic group in Nigeria is represented here in our communities. So the company is bringing all Nigerians together,” he said.

The paramount ruler who appreciated Dangote for opening up his communities to the world thanked him for the groundbreaking ceremony for the secondary school and the completion of the borehole,

In his reaction, Dangote Cement Plant Director Mr. JV Gungune, who was represented by the Senior General Manager, Production, Engr. John Gwong, said Dangote takes its relationship with host communities very seriously, promising that there are more CSR projects in the pipeline.

Speaking earlier, General Manager, Community Relations and Special Duties, said the communities have been very supportive, and that the projects are captured in the extant Community Development Agreement (CDA).

Speaking, Federal Mines Environmental Compliance Officer of the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, Engr. Ezekiel Olufemi Olaitan told newsmen that the Dangote Cement Plc is one of the most socially responsibly companies in Nigeria, adding that it is complying strictly with the CDA.

He said the Ministry who supervises the implementation of the CDA is satisfied with the performance of the Dangote Cement Plc.

In her reaction, Director, Geological Service, Kogi State Ministry of Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Mrs Onimode Atinuke Olaitan, said State Ministry is happy that the company is fulfilling its agreement with the communities.

Oyo Community Chairman Prince Michael Solomon said Mr. Dangote is highly appreciated, describing him as the Messiah who has intervened in all facets of their lives.

He therefore thanked the management and the government’s representatives for all their support and promised the people’s total support and loyalty to the company.
