Dangote Refinery to Supply Fuel to 150,000 IPMAN Stations

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery is set to supply fuel to approximately 150,000 retail outlets operated by the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN). Following a meeting between the refinery’s management and IPMAN executives, the decision was confirmed by IPMAN President, Abubakar Maigandi, who mentioned that the refinery had agreed to provide products to over 30,000 IPMAN members.

Major oil marketers, including 11 Plc, Conoil Plc, Ardova Plc, MRS Oil Nigeria Plc, OVH Energy Marketing Limited, Total Nigeria Plc, and NNPC Retail, have already registered with the Dangote refinery for the lifting and distribution of refined petroleum products. Additionally, the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria is engaging with the refinery for product supply.

The refinery recently announced the commencement of production, producing Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) and JetA1 (aviation fuel). The downstream oil sector regulator is currently examining the refined products before granting approval for dispensing them to the market.

IPMAN President, Abubakar Maigandi, expressed optimism, stating that Dangote’s production would help alleviate fuel scarcity, and the price was expected to be slightly lower than current rates. The refinery, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, is located in the Dangote Industries Free Zone, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos. The facility aims to contribute significantly to Nigeria’s fuel supply and marks a pivotal development in the country’s energy landscape.
