Afrobeats superstar Davido has reacted to the sudden resignation of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Governor Adeleke officially resigned from the PDP on November 4, 2025, although the development only became public on Monday night. His resignation letter, later shared online by his aide, Olawale Rasheed, cited unresolved internal crises at the national level of the party as the reason for his exit.
In the letter addressed to the PDP Ward 2 chairman in Ede North, Adeleke acknowledged the party’s support in his political journey from senator to governor but stated that the lingering disputes made it impossible for him to continue under the party’s platform.
Reacting to the development, Davido took to his X page and wrote simply: “Jeje…”
The governor’s exit has thrown preparations for the Osun 2026 governorship primary into uncertainty. While the Osun PDP announced a postponement of the primary due to internal disagreements, the party’s National Working Committee has insisted the exercise should proceed as scheduled. Adeleke remains the only aspirant who purchased the nomination form, further deepening the confusion.
Speculation is now mounting that the governor may seek re-election under the Accord Party, with reports indicating that some of his aides are already moving into the party and taking up key roles in Osun State.
Previous efforts by Adeleke to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) were reportedly unsuccessful, as party leaders allegedly rejected his application.
