Delta Attorney-General pledges service delivery to Deltans

Delta State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Isaiah Bozimo has pledged to deliver more robust service for the benefits of government and the people of the state

Mr. Bozimo gave the assurance in Asaba while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after the 2023 budget defence before the Delta State House of Assembly Committee on Rules , Business, Legal and Judicial Matters.

Bozimo commended the State House of Assembly and the House Committee on Rules, Business , Legal and Judicial Matters in particular for their numerous support.

He said that the Ministry had a slight increment to its proposal for approval demands for 2023 , adding that the increments were focused on some reforms and agendas that the Ministry was undertaking.

Bozimo also said that in the 2023 budget the reforms were under the administration of criminal justice law , noting that there were several committees that had been created as well as committees that had been existing.

The Attorney- General stated that the Ministry needed to be working effectively in order to ensure that the implementation of the law was successful.

He hinted that the Delta State Taskforce on Human Trafficking and Irregular Migration was created to combat human trafficking in the state.

Mr. Bozimo further disclosed that in the the 2023 budget the Ministry had created vote head for the office of the Public Defender , adding that the office was charged with the responsibility of providing free legal services to indigent citizens and residents of Delta State.

He stated that under the administration of criminal justice law the Ministry was envisaging that the work load will increase hence the need for the Ministry to be proactive to ensure that there was funds to be able to meet the governance demands of the state in 2023.
