Deputy Speaker Maje wins re-election

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Ahmed Wase Maje , has been declared the winner of the Wase Federal Constituency, Plateau State, election held on Saturday.

Our correspondent reports that the returning officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Sati Umaru Fwatshak, announced Wase as the winner on Monday .

The lawmaker contested the election on the All Progressives Congress, APC, platform and polled 31,499 votes to defeat his closest rival, Ibrahim Bawa Kanji of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who scored 25,513 votes.
