Livestock sellers in Kano state have stressed that this year’s sales is also very profitable despites the present economic hardships that is facing the world due to so many reasons, adding that people of all categories were able to buy their animals according to their standard.
They made this known in an interview with our correspondent, where they disclosed that ” people are trooping into their stocks to buy livestock like ram, cattle, goat, sheep, camel and poultry related birds for their Sallah festivals which is very commendable where an affordable price was fixed for every category of animal.
Alhaji Jamilu Yahaya, a large ruminants animals and the chairman livestock sellers association of Kofar Na’isa told Daybreak News that ” we sell large animals like cattle and camel from 100,000 to 200,000, while the largest ones were sold at 250,000-300,000 but what we understand is that people usually forms groups and buy either camel or cattle depending on their ability”. He concluded.
Our correspondent who visited many livestock’s selling points gathered that poultries like hens, cocks, turkey, fowls and ducks were also affordable at Badume, Kwanar Ungogo, Sabon Gari, Yankaba and Bichi markets while the sales is still ongoing as at the time of filing this news.
