Double Tragedy in Kaduna: Child Thrown Into Well, Father Slumps and Dies

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

Tragedy struck in Sabon Tasha, Kaduna State, as a 3-year-old girl was reportedly thrown into a well by her mother, leading to the child’s death and the sudden collapse and death of her father upon hearing the news.

The heartbreaking incident occurred earlier this week at the family’s residence, located opposite Christ Ambassador Church in the Sabon Tasha area.

According to eyewitnesses, the act was allegedly committed during a heated argument between the woman and her husband. While the exact cause of the dispute is yet to be confirmed, family sources revealed that tensions had been escalating between the couple.

A relative of the family disclosed that the deceased child—aged 3 years and 3 months—was the only child born to the couple.

Tragically, the child’s father, said to be in his early 40s, reportedly slumped and died upon receiving the news of his daughter’s death.

Though the Kaduna State Police Command has yet to release an official statement, sources close to the investigation confirmed that the suspect—the mother of the child—has been taken into custody and is currently being held in prison pending further investigation.

More details are expected as the story develops.
