The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested three suspected gunrunners accused of supplying weapons to bandits in Kaduna State.
The suspects were caught in sting operations across Igabi and Kachia LGAs. One suspect, 30, was intercepted along Nnamdi Azikiwe Bypass with two AK-47 rifles, a PKT machine gun, over 200 rounds of live ammunition, and empty magazines hidden in sacks of maize. Two others were arrested in Doka village, Kachia, while transporting three AK-47 rifles in a Volkswagen Golf.
Governor Uba Sani hailed the DSS for the breakthrough, reaffirming his administration’s resolve to eliminate banditry. He thanked President Bola Tinubu and the DSS DG for supporting Kaduna’s peace and security efforts.
The DSS said investigations are ongoing and vowed that the suspects would be prosecuted, reiterating its commitment to stopping arms trafficking in the state.
