Easter: Benue SEMA Distributes Relief Items To Internally Displaced Persons.

Benue State Emergency Management Agency BSEMA, has distributed food and Non-food items to the Internally Displaced Persons, IDP, Camps across the state to enable them celebrate Easter.

Performing the ceremony at the agency’s headquarters in Makurdi, the Acting Executive Secretary, Mr James Iorpuu, explained that the gesture was part of Governor Hyacinth Alia’s spirit of Easter as well routine distribution of relief materials to the displaced population in the state.

Mr Iorpuu noted that the food and Non-food items were targeted at the IDPS and those who were recently displaced from Kwande, Katsina-Ala, Ukum, Apa, Agatu, Okpokwu and Guma Local Government Areas respectively.

The Executive Secretary who assured that the relief materials would get to the doorsteps of the affected population, lauded Governor Alia over responding promptly to the plights of the displaced persons in the state.

The non-items distributed include; mattresses, detergents, soap among several others. The food items were; 25kg bags of gari, 25kg bags of rice, 25kg bags of beans, 25kg bags of maize, gallons of red oil and vegetable oil, bags of sugar, salt and noddles.
