Education: Gov Sule to give Govt College, Keffi lifeline receives 10point document from KOBA.

Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, has restated his administration’s continued commitment to uplifting the standard of education at Government College, Keffi as one of the premier institutions in the state and the country that has produced a president of the federal republic of Nigeria among other prominent citizens.

This, he said, was necessary due to the importance of education to the development of the society and the position Government College Keffi occupies in the national education system.

Sule gave the assurance while receiving 10 point documents from KOBA National Executive Council led by its President General Engr. Edward Ujege today Saturday in Lafia.

The governor commended the KOBA for their commitment to their alma mater while describing the association as the most organized in Nigeria.

” I want to commend you for the visit and to assure you of my administration’s commitment to uplift the standard of education in the state especially Government College Keffi which have an outstanding history not just in the state but the country at large considering the caliber of people the school has produced.

” As no society will achieve meaningful development without sound and quality education, hence the need of my administration’s commitment in that direction.

Sule promised to set up an implementation committee to ensure that the 10points agenda is carried out.

The governor called on other old boys association to emulate KOBA instead of waiting on Government for everything.

Earlier, the KOBA President General, Engr. Edward Ujege while presenting the documents to the governor said, if properly undertaken, the college will regain its glory as the center of excellence.

According to him, what is required is a concerted efforts by the old boys and the Nasarawa State Government to bring back the college to it’s glory and fame where graduating students excels in their chosen carriers.

The president general assured of the association’s readiness to continue to key into positive policies and programmes that would have direct bearing on the standard of education in the institution and by extension the state and the country at large.

It was reported that the KOBA National Executive Council has presented a 10 point agenda to the Nasarawa State Government as its research document and proposal to revive Government College,Keffi (GCK).
