The FCT Minister Barr. Nyesom Wike has corrected the notion that the provision of the EFCC Academy 3 kilometer Access Road at Giri District is for EFCC only, but it is to open up areas for the community to do their activities.
Wike said, ” The essence of the road is not for EFCC, but it’s to open up areas which they are also going to benefit from because the academy is also located in this area.”
“The community will also benefit, people will now come and build houses, farmers will have the opportunity to bring their farm produce to the city. That’s the whole essence of opening up everywhere.”
“So let it not be said that we are constructing a road for EFCC. We are building roads to open up access and develop areas.”
Wike wondered that people could not come to the Giri District, because there is no access road.
He noted that provision of the access roads is to decongest the city, from where people can get to the city within 20 minutes to their workplace.
However, the minister thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for giving him the opportunity to contribute towards the infrastructural development of FCT.
The minister disclosed that budgets and funds for all approved projects are made available.
The Acting Executive Secretary of FCDA, Eng. Richard Unana stated that the construction of the access road to EFCC Academy, is in line with providing infrastructure in FCT, adding that completion of the 3 kilometer when completed will enhance rapid community and economic development.
Wike further gave assurance that the road will be completed by May next year to mark Mr. President’s second anniversary.
