The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, 2025, as public holidays in celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.
The announcement was made on Monday by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement issued on behalf of the government.
Tunji-Ojo extended his congratulations to all Muslims across Nigeria and the Diaspora, encouraging the faithful to uphold the values of sacrifice, obedience, and devotion exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him).
He also urged Nigerians to use the festive period to offer prayers for peace, unity, and national prosperity.
“The Minister assured citizens that the ongoing people-centered reforms under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda are designed to place Nigeria firmly back on the path of progress,” the statement read.
While wishing the Muslim Ummah a joyful celebration, Tunji-Ojo called on all Nigerians to support the administration’s efforts in restoring Nigeria’s greatness.
