Eid El Kabir: NYCN President Tasks Muslims on COVID-19 Protocols

President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Solomon Adodo, has urged
Muslim faithful in Nigeria to celebrate this year’s Eid-el-kabir festivities obeying all the protocols and guidelines stipulated by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The youth President who gave the charge in his Sallah message to Nigerian muslims as they mark the islamic festival of sacrifice, also tasked them to remain dedicated to promoting the country’s unity and prosperity.

Adodo explained that though the restrictions on the celebration of Eid is an inconvenience to Muslims, it is a sacrifice worth making in order to curb the further spread of the coronavirus which has now passed forty thousand infections.

While urging Muslims in the country to use this occasion to pray for an end to the global pandemic which has crippled economic and social activities in the country and globally, the youth leader expressed confidence in the ability of Allah to heal the world.

“With total submission to the will of the Almighty, we can confront our challenges both as individuals and as a nation. Be assured that Allah will at His time intervene in all areas of our lives in terms of security, economic prosperity and healthy wellbeing of all. As a people who profess Islam, we must therefore not be deterred in our faith in our Creator.

“As we celebrate the feast of sacrifice with worship, it is imperative for us all not to be lost in the web of festivity at a time the globe is threatened by coronavirus. We must bear in mind that our religious books admonish us to be obedient thus observing all the safety protocols given by NCDC”, the statement noted.

Adodo used the occasion to reassure Nigerian youths of the commitment of the NYCN under his leadership to ensure that the Nigerian youths are adequately mobilised for economic and national development.

“Let me use this opportunity to reassure the Nigerian youths that NYCN under my watch will continue to engender youth participation in economic growth and other spheres of development for our dear nation. We have began partnerships with government agencies, embassies, nongovernmental organisations and are confident that in no distance time, our engagements shall begin to yield positive results for our teaming population”, the statement added.
