As Muslim faithful in Nigeria celebrate this year’s Eid-ul-Mawlid, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Prof. Stephen Adegbite has encouraged Muslim faithful to pray for the security and peace of the nation.
“Pray for the country’s fragile security situation and support the administration’s efforts to address current challenges.”
This was contained in his message of felicitations to Muslims as they celebrate the occasion of Eid-ul-Mawlid, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be unto him).
Bishop Adegbite, in his Eid-ul-Mawlid message, also encouraged Muslims to reflect on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad and live according to the dictates of Islam, a religion of peace.
He called on them to intercede in prayer for one another, preach peace, and uphold the president, vice president, and all national leaders in prayer.
He further enjoined them to use the Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration to educate and enlighten their followers on Islamic injunctions through lectures and symposia.
