El-Rufai Denies Leaving APC for PDP, Labels Rumours as Lies

By  Milcah   Tanimu

Former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has firmly rejected claims that he has left the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or any opposition party.

In a statement posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday, El-Rufai labelled the rumours as “patent lies” and urged Nigerians to ignore the false reports.

He clarified, “Please, disregard the patent lies and rumours about my political affiliation. I have referred the lead peddlers of the fake news for further action by my lawyers.”

The rumours had suggested that El-Rufai was collaborating with prominent political figures to form a coalition aimed at challenging the APC in the 2027 elections.

El-Rufai also hinted at pursuing legal action against those responsible for spreading the misinformation.

This statement comes amid a flurry of political activity as various camps gear up for the upcoming 2027 general elections.
