EODU to Embrace All inclusion Security Fights to Cub security challenges in Egume — Maji

The new National President of Egume – Ome Descendants’ Union, (EODU) Comrade Sunday Maji on Saturday promised to liaise with stakeholders and security experts to restructure the security architecture to cub security challenges in Egume community and it’s suburbs.

Comrade Sunday Maji who gave the promise at the national delegate convention of the union held at the Community Comprehensive Secondary school, Egume in Dekina local government area over the weekend noted that the fight against security in the society is a collective fight.

He pointed out that the present executive would soon convene a town hall meeting of Gagos, Madakis and Stakeholders of Egume community to find a serious measures to cub the persistence security challenges in the area and it’s suburbs.

The national president and his team, immediately after their inauguration paid visit to the acting Onu-Egume, the senior Gago Salami
at Onu-Egume’s palace. He described the Palace as an eyesore.

Comrade Maji expressed displeasure over the high level of vandalism carried out by suspected hoodlums in the community after the demise of the late Onu.  According to Mr. Maji the criminals would not escape the ancestors’ caurse.

‘As every sons and daughters of Egume are enthusiastically expecting the coronation of the new Onu-Egume’, Comrade Maji therefore appealed to citizenry of Egume to rally round the present Executive members to make the  palace habitable for the incoming Onu-Egume.

He called for the cooperation of the entire people of the community and it’s environs with the new executive members to enable them achieve maximum results.

The national president task all sons and daughters of Egume to use the Easter season to seek for divine intervention in resolving the myriad problems confronting the nation and Kogi state at the moment.

“We must emulate these virtues by being committed to peace, unity, and the development of our dear fatherland. Certainly, we can achieve a lot more together in unity.” He said.

“Let us turn to God to heal our land from every form of insecurity and return us firmly on the path of wholesome economic recovery and prosperity”

Among those elected are Sunday Maji – President, Comrade Musa Moses F.- Vice President, Mr. Gabriel Edicha – Secretary, Okpanachi Attah – Assistant secretary, while the post of financial secretary went to Mr. Samuel Alfa.

Others are Mallam Idris Bako Ibrahim -Treasurer, Comrade Noah Ocheni (JP) P.R.O, Barr. Nuhu Shuaibu – Legal adviser,
Mr. Samuel Idachaba – Almanac Editor, Comrade Idris Alfa- Auditor while the immediate past President, Alhaji Muhammed Lawal was appointed ground Patron of the union respectively.
