By  Milcah   Tanimu

A woman lost her life in the Abule-Egba area of Lagos when she was reportedly crushed by a truck during a police operation to enforce the ban on commercial motorcycles (okada). The police team was attempting to disperse a crowd of motorcycle riders when tear gas was used. In the panic that ensued, a passenger in a tricycle jumped out and was fatally hit by a recklessly driven Leyland tipper. The driver of the tipper fled the scene, but the vehicle was later recovered. The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer confirmed the incident, emphasizing the use of tear gas for crowd control and the initiation of a full investigation.
