FG moves to improve Nutrition Strategy for citizens

The Federal Government has moved to improve a nutrition strategy of Nigerians as the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare organized a three day workshop on Nutrition Strategy.

The 3- Day workshop tagged, “KML Strategy for Nigeria Health Sector Nutrition”, organized by the health ministry is to create a platform on KML for the development of diverse strategies in nutrition for a healthy Nigerian population.

The Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Ali Pate at the event which was held recently in Keffi, Nasarawa State, in his keynote address
stated that the move is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen the Nutrition Department and institutionalize Knowledge Management Learning (KML), in the health sector.

The minister who was represented by the Director/ Head Nutrition Department of the health ministry, Mrs. Ladidi Bako- Ayegbusi noted that the outcomes from the training will boost the development of an outline on KML Strategy for Nigeria.

The minister stated that the objective of the workshop is to guide participants on the matrix of KML strategy such as sharing Articulate systems for sharing Nutrition related information and best practices across all health sector levels,
systematic collection and documentation of Nutrition, outcomes and interventions, innovations for informed decisions.
“Improve access to up – to- date nutrition knowledge for health professionals in managing and applying nutrition knowledge effectively.”

The ministry has embarked on several interventions to enhance the quality of lives of the citizens, the minister added.
