FIFA WCQ: Gov Eno throws stadium open for fans

In line with his determination and promise to moblize support for the victory of the Super Eagles of Nigeria against the Warriors of Zimbabwe, Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom has purchased 30,000 tickets for football fans and supporters ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualification match scheduled for Tuesday in Uyo.

In a statement on Monday signed by State Sports Commissioner, Mr Paul Bassey, the state government urged fans to take advantage of the free tickets to come out and cheer the Eagles to victory.

The statement said that venues that would serve as ticket distribution centres would include All Radio Stations,  Uyo Township Stadium, Uyo, Ibom Plaza, Uyo and all previous sales agents and centres

“Consequently, fans are to note that

the tickets are FREE. Do not BUY tickets from anybody.No persons will be permitted entry into the stadium without tickets. 

“Tickets will not be distributed at the stadium. Fans without tickets should not be found within the stadium vicinity.

“Fans in the stadium must be orderly and must abide by the seating arrangements and instructions as would be announced by the organizers.

“All FIFA/CAF/NFF rules bordering on the organization of international football matches would be strictly adhered to.

“Security agencies have been put on notice to ensure strict compliance to all the aforementioned.” The statement said.
