…Mahmoud admonished pilgrims for obey of laws in Holy Land

Finally, the FCT has airlifted 290 Intending Christian Pilgrims on January 2nd, 2025 to Holy Land for the 2023/ 2024 main pilgrimage after being delayed by the Israeli – Gaza conflict.
The Minister of State for FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud in her keynote address for the departure orientation for the intending Christian pilgrims, she charged them to respect the laws of the host nations while there.
Mahmoud also urged them to pray for Nigeria and our political leaders during the pilgrimage.
She also charged the intending pilgrims to be ambassadors of Nigeria and to avoid any misconduct that will portray Nigeria in bad light or to embarrass the FCT and Nigeria at large.
She also advised that pilgrims should endeavor to acquire and share knowledge.
Mahmoud noted that pilgrimages are significant spiritual exercises and that pilgrims should make the best of it.
In her goodwill message, the FCT Head of Service, Mrs. Grace Adayilo stressed the need for every pilgrim to pray for Nigeria.
She charged the pilgrims to take spiritual responsibility while in the Holy Land and make the best of the pilgrimage.
Earlier, the Director, FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Gloria Dandam was particularly thankful to both the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, and the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, for facilitating the trip, noting that it was not an ordinary trip but a spiritual journey.
Also, the FCT Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Vice Chairman, Rev. Dr. Isaac Komolafe told the intending pilgrims to ensure there are no absconding.
