FIRS awards Jigawa Ministry of Finance as the best agency in tax payment

Dutse, Jan 17, 2019 (Day break.ng) The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) presented an award to the Jigawa Ministry of Finance for being the best agency in tax payments in 2018 in the state.

FIRS Coordinator in Jigawa, Alhaji Saidu Gabari, who presented the award to the ministry on Thursday in Dutse, said the efforts of the ministry in tax payments were commendable.

Gabari disclosed that the state had a target of over N4billion in 2018 but overshot it by over a billion naira, thereby totaling its payments to N5billion.

In a remark, the Director of Treasury Service of the ministry, Alhaji Aminu Sule, pledged the commitment of the ministry to continue to live up to expectation in paying revenue to FIRS.

Sule appealed to the FIRS not to increase the target given to the state.

He noted that regular payment of revenue was important because government used such money to provide social amenities to the masses.
