In a new development surrounding the #EndBadGovernance protests, the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) has directed the Nigerian Immigration Services (NIS) to apprehend individuals believed to be funding the demonstrations. Among those targeted is Omoyele Sowore, a former presidential candidate and a key figure in the protest movement.

Sowore, who led the African Action Congress (AAC) in a previous presidential election, has been a prominent critic of the current administration. The protests, initially peaceful, have escalated into violence in several states, leading to significant loss and damage.

In response to the unrest, the NIS has ramped up security at borders, airports, and land entry points to thwart foreign involvement and arrest suspects. A senior immigration officer confirmed that Sowore, along with other individuals on the watch list, will be detained upon their return to Nigeria.

The NIS has heightened surveillance measures to curb external interference in domestic issues, with Sowore’s name reportedly among those flagged for arrest.
