“Former SGF Claims Peter Obi Won 2023 Presidential Election, Questions Tinubu’s Victory”

By Daniel Edu

In a surprising turn of events, former Secretary to the Federal Government, Babachir Lawal, has asserted that the February 25th presidential election was actually won by Peter Obi of the Labour Party, rather than Bola Tinubu, who was officially declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the presidential election petition tribunal.

Lawal, in a statement released on Tuesday, cited data from independent sources to support his claim that Peter Obi received the majority of votes, with Atiku coming in second place, while Bola Tinubu secured a distant third in the vote tally.

Expressing concerns about Tinubu’s eligibility to participate in the election due to the negative information publicly revealed about him, Lawal urged him to resign to spare himself from potential public humiliation and embarrassment.

Lawal emphasized the importance of leadership qualities, including integrity, trustworthiness, and the ability to inspire hope, suggesting that many Nigerians believed Tinubu lacked these attributes.

In addition to his doubts about the election results, Lawal criticized Tinubu’s political appointments, arguing that they seemed to be a reward for those who supported him in securing the presidency at any cost. He also raised concerns about rising fuel prices, the weakening value of the Naira, and escalating insecurity in the country, attributing these issues to the actions of Tinubu’s appointed officials.
