“Sometimes I want to rest, and I remember Funke Akindele is not resting,” the fan tweeted.

In response, Funke humorously disagreed, writing, “Na lie. I dey rest wella.”

Funke Akindele has long been celebrated for her incredible work ethic and success. Earlier this year, her movie A Tr!be Called Judah grossed over ₦1.4 billion, cementing her status as the first Nigerian filmmaker to surpass the billion-naira mark at cinemas.

Reflecting on her journey, Funke shared a video from the set of the blockbuster, describing herself as a living testimony of resilience and self-belief. She admitted to facing numerous challenges but credited her determination and faith for her rise to stardom.

Staying True to Her Vision

Funke also acknowledged singer D’banj for encouraging her to keep the Jenifa brand alive during a tough period. She revealed how his support—both emotional and financial—helped her maintain the momentum that has since defined her career.

With a track record that includes hits like Battle on Buka Street and Omo Ghetto: The Saga, Funke Akindele continues to inspire her fans and peers alike, even while making time to “rest wella.”
