Funom Rimar Less Privileged Foundation Launches in Kaduna, Pledges Global-Standard Humanitarian Services
By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna
The Funom Rimar Less Privileged Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, has been officially launched in Kaduna State with a pledge to deliver global-standard humanitarian services across Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Kaduna, the foundation’s Executive Director, Abraham Dauwa, said the organisation is committed to “leading in service to humanity by upholding global standards” while building a reputation for professionalism, discipline, and efficiency in humanitarian delivery.
He said the foundation aims to provide specialised, modern, and innovative support services that respond directly to community needs, with an initial focus on assisting vulnerable patients and affected families.
According to him, the first phase of the intervention will prioritise payment of hospital bills for detained patients as well as food support for families struggling with medical and economic hardship.
“Too often, humanitarian work is done with good intentions but without the discipline and efficiency that people deserve,” Dauwa said. “We are here to change that narrative. Our commitment is to serve with excellence, transparency, and respect for every life we touch.”
He added that the foundation will also support the release of indigent patients detained in hospitals due to unpaid medical bills.
The organisation further announced plans to roll out community health outreach programmes and emergency relief interventions across Kaduna and neighbouring states.
It stated that it intends to collaborate with community leaders, government agencies, private institutions, health professionals, and international partners to ensure sustainability and wider impact.
The foundation emphasised that it is built on principles of professionalism, accountability, and compassion, adding that it seeks to bridge gaps in humanitarian response by integrating international best practices with local community engagement.
The launch, according to the organisation, marks the beginning of a long-term mission to redefine humanitarian service delivery in Nigeria and create a model that could be replicated globally.

Kogi Police Intensify Bush Clearance Operations in Forests
From Noah Ocheni, Lokoja
The Kogi State Police Command has intensified joint bush clearance operations in identified forest areas to deny criminal elements access to suspected hideouts and forest corridors across the state. The Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, said the operations were part of efforts to maintain pressure on suspected criminal elements operating in remote areas and improve security for residents and farmers.
According to a statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Saliu Oyiza Afusat, a joint operation was conducted on Thursday, August 20, across forest locations linking Kabba/Bunu, Obajana and Lokoja. The operation involved personnel from the police, military, local vigilante groups and other security auxiliaries.
The team searched the Daji 2 Forest Zone and cleared an abandoned settlement reportedly suspected of having been used as a hideout or staging point for criminal activities. The security personnel also conducted a clearance operation at Amos Camp, another abandoned location in difficult terrain involving creeks and mountainous areas.
The command said signs of recent movement were observed along routes leading towards the Oyo Forest axis of Obajana, suggesting that occupants had left the area before the security team arrived. The police said the operations had boosted confidence among residents and farmers, with some returning to their farmlands and daily activities.
Kankarofi commended participating personnel and collaborating security and community groups for their resilience and teamwork. He assured residents that patrols, intelligence gathering and bush clearance operations would continue across identified areas to improve security and protect legitimate economic activities.
