Gov Alia Constitutes Benue Independent Electoral Commission To Conduct LG Polls

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, has constituted the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission, BESIEC, to conduct elections into the local government areas across the state.

The press statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula quoted his Principal as saying that the nominees have been considered based on their track records, adding that they are responsible for the conduct of elections into local government areas in the state.

The Governor charged them to be fair and just, and always consider the interest of the state above their personal interest in the course of discharging their responsibilities.

Towards achieving this, Governor Alia, has forwarded to the Benue State House of Assembly eight nominees for confirmation to serve as Chairman, Secretary and members of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BESIEC).
