Governor Darius Ishaku has imposed a dusk to dawn curfew on wukari following the attack of the gubernatorial candidate of the APC Alhaji Sani Abubakar Danladi during his campaign rally in the area.
According to the press statement signed by the the senior special assistant to the Governor on media and publicity Bala Dan Abu, the curfew was necessitated by the clashes that occurred in wukari during the visit of the Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress.
The SSA said the decision to impose the curfew is to prevent further breakdown of law and order in the town and its environs.
Governor Ishaku there by urged the people to be law- abiding and to cooperate with the law enforcement agencies in order to avoid further deterioration of the security situation in the town.
He advised politicians to exercise restraint as they move around to campaign and to ensure thugs have no role to play during campaigns and the elections.
