We will not rest until those behind this heinous crime are tracked down, apprehended, and brought to justice,” Governor Ododo vowed.

He emphasized that Egbe will not be left vulnerable to criminal elements and assured residents of continued protection.

Omodara explained that many of the bandits operating in Kogi are fleeing criminals from neighbouring states. He disclosed that the state government has identified several hideouts and is working with the Federal Government and the Office of the National Security Adviser to track and neutralize the attackers. He further revealed that plans are underway to establish a Forward Operation Base (FOB) in Egbe to address persistent insecurity in the area. He warned that local collaborators and saboteurs will be prosecuted and dealt with decisively. In his remarks, His Royal Highness, Oba Ayodele Irukera, the Elegbe of Egbe, appealed for increased security presence in the community. He noted that Egbe’s border location makes it particularly vulnerable to attacks. The monarch apologized for the recent road blockade by youths, explaining that it was a reaction to the killings. “It is inhuman for five people to be killed in just one day,” he said, calling for urgent measures to restore peace and safety in the community.
