Gov. Zulum and Two Others Nominated for Arewa Humanitarian Award

By Achadu Gabriel, Kaduna

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State, along with Governors Bala Mohammed of Bauchi and Umar Bago of Niger State, has been nominated for the prestigious Arewa Humanitarian Awards 2024.

This recognition aims to highlight their exceptional contributions to humanitarian efforts and the well-being of their respective states, according to a statement by Zulum’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Abdurrahman Bundi.

Governor Zulum is celebrated for his leadership during one of Nigeria’s most challenging humanitarian crises. He has consistently demonstrated resilience and compassion in addressing the needs of displaced persons, providing essential services, and rebuilding war-torn communities.

The Arewa Humanitarian Awards, scheduled for December 2024, is a significant event that recognizes leaders and change-makers across Northern Nigeria who have made substantial impacts in their communities.

The nomination of these three governors underscores their dedication to serving the people and contributing to the overall development of the northern region, the statement added.

“Their leadership and humanitarian work will be honored at the upcoming ceremony, which will bring together political leaders, humanitarian advocates, and stakeholders to celebrate collaborative efforts that continue to uplift communities across Northern Nigeria,” the statement concluded.
