Governor Aliyu Sokoto Approved Committee To Restore Physically Challenged And Ulamas Monthly Stipend

The Sokoto state governor, Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto has in fulfilment of his campaign promise to restore the monthly stipends to physically challenged, Imams, Deputy imams , Muazzins and Ulamas in the state, approved the constitution of a committee to that effect.

A statement signed by the Press Secretary to Sokoto State governor Malam Abubakar Bawa says the 23- Man committee has Dr Rufa’i Usman Rungumi Chairman while Dr. Ahmad Rufai Yabo would serve as the Secretary.

Other members include Alhaji Hassan Bello Dangote, Bello Garba Gwadabawa, Sarkin Bodinga,Sarkin Rabah,Sarkin Gabas na Durbawa,Malam Ya’u Muhammad Danda,Liman Shehu Ardo Wamakko,Hon Aminu Liman Bodinga ,Malam Nafiu Dan Hajah,Jamilu Mua’zu kofar kware,.Hajiya Maryam Sulaiman D’mass, Hajiya Asabe Balarabe.

The rest are Alhaji Babuga Oro,Alhaji Adamu Mai Taba,Representatives of Ministry for LGs,Ministry for Social welfare,Arabic and Islamic Education board,of Ministry for Religious affairs, the disabled persons,Malam Mustafa yabo,Hassan Abdul Rahman Dan Almajiri and ,Dr Muhammad Umar yabo Member and also Secretary of the committee.

The Committee is sadled with responsibilities to carry out a rigorous screening of the physically challenged to benefit from the monthly stipends.

Introduce measures aimed at ensuring that the genuine and Screened beneficiaries get the stipends.

To ensure that only genuine Imams, Deputy imams, Muazzins and Ulamas benefit from the gesture.

The statement further said,the committee is given two weeks to complete it’s assignment so that beneficiaries can start enjoying the monthly stipends.
