Governor Bindow Presents N230bn Budget for 2019

The Adamawa State Governor, Senator Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla Bindow has presented a budget of N230.989.412,.375,00k for 2019 fiscal year to the Adamawa State House of Assembly.

Presenting the budget on Tuesday, Governor Bindow said N103,495,235,575.00k is for recurrent expenditure while N127,494,176,800.00k is for capital expenditure.

He observed that this is the second time in the history of the state that capital expenditure would be higher than recurrent expenditure, stressing that capital expenditure is consuming 55% of the budget.

Tagging the budget, ‘Budget of Next Level”, Bindow told the Assembly that 2019 is geared towards consolidating on the gains of the 2018 budget and that has enhanced massive infrastructural development accros the state in social sectors including education, healthcare, agriculture, works, and water supply.

He commended the legislatures for their effective partnership with the executive leading to the timely preparation of the budget, stressing that since the inception of his administration, which he said is a milestone in administrative planning.

The governor further assured the Lawmakers and the Adamawa citizens that his administration would continue to uphold the trust and confidence reposed on them by the people in ensuring transparency, accountability, and good governance.

Bindow then expressed satisfaction with 2018 budget performance, stressing that 95% of the budgetary estimates were achieved.

Responding the Adamawa Speaker, Rt Hon Kabiru Mijinyawa assures the Governor of the speedy consideration and passage of the budget.

He then commended the Governor for being one of the few governors in the country to present their 2019 budget.
