Governor Fubara Explains Why Some Oppose Rivers LG Elections

By   Milcah   Tanimu

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has disclosed that certain individuals are trying to block the upcoming local government elections on October 5. They fear the rise of a new political structure that will not be dominated by any single person or group.

Governor Fubara made this statement during a meeting with leaders and members of The Simplicity Movement, led by Chief Sobomabo Jackrich, also known as Egberipapa. He emphasized that these elections signify the start of the state’s liberation.

According to Fubara, the upcoming polls will bring about a new political landscape, offering the people a chance for rebirth and transformation. He stated, “Our journey is just starting. We are preparing for the election on October 5. I want you to participate actively in that election.”

Fubara added, “That election is going to be the turnaround. It is the rebirth of a new and strong structure that doesn’t belong to anybody. You can see that is why they are running everywhere to stop it.”
