Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has expressed his deep sorrow over the passing of Ekene Abubakar Adams, a member of the House of Representatives. The lawmaker, who represented the Chikun/Kajuru federal constituency under the Labour Party (LP), passed away on Tuesday morning at the age of 39. Until his demise, he served as the chairman of the House Committee on Sports.
In a statement released on Tuesday by Muhammad Shehu, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sani received the news with great sadness. The governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and the people of the Chikun/Kajuru federal constituency.
Governor Sani praised the late Adams as a “trailblazer and fearless politician and administrator.” He also called for prayers from well-meaning Nigerians for the people of Kaduna State during this difficult time.
“On behalf of the people of Kaduna State, Governor Uba Sani has extended his deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and has called for prayers from well-meaning Nigerians for the people of Kaduna State during this time,” the statement reads.
Akin Rotimi, the spokesperson of the House, described the late lawmaker as a “dedicated public servant, passionate sports administrator, and kind philanthropist.” He emphasized that Adams was a “kind and gentle humanitarian, loved by all who knew him,” noting that his dedication to the development of grassroots sports in Nigeria was unwavering and that his contributions to the House will be deeply missed.
