Governor Zulum Praises Military for Flood Response in Borno

By  Milcah   Tanimu

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, lauded the Nigerian Military for their rapid response to the recent floods that devastated the region. He emphasized that their intervention significantly reduced the risk of additional casualties.

Zulum’s remarks were made during a meeting with Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, at the Government House in Maiduguri. He expressed deep gratitude for the military’s rescue operations and their support for affected communities.

“Without the military’s assistance, the situation could have been much worse,” Zulum stated, underscoring the importance of their timely actions. He also updated General Musa on the security improvements in the state, noting a decrease in insecurity by over 90% and a gradual return to peace in Borno.

This visit by General Musa comes in the wake of flooding that displaced numerous villagers, particularly impacting women and children. The military’s quick response has been vital in alleviating the disaster’s effects and supporting recovery efforts in the region.
