Herdsmen Attacks: Bello Vows To Hunt Down Oganenigu Perpetrators, Calls For Calm

The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has called for calm over the recent attacks by suspected herdsmen on communities in Oganenigu Ward of Dekina Local Government Area of the State.

The governor in the statement
by signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogu Mohammed, stated that his administration will continue to phase out crisis entrepreneurs from the state and ensure that perpetrators are made to face justice.

According to him, the unexpected development is shocking and assured that his administration shall commit every available resource to hunt down the criminal actors and make them to pay for their crime

“Government will never bow to the machinations of heartless elements in its resolves to rid the state of criminals,” Bello said.

Bello described Sunday attacks as a calculated assault on the peace-loving people of Oganenigu who have been enjoying relative peace and security in their communities.

The governor commensurated with
the entire people of Oganenigu, particularly the family of the slain Oganenigu APC ward chairman, Hon James Adah and others affected by this “ugly and unfortunate attack while urging the people to remain calm.”

He, however, advised the people not to take laws into their hands as security agencies have been swiftly mobilised and deployed to the troubled areas to restore normalcy.

With early deployment of security operatives, normalcy has since returned to Oganenigu according to the statement.
