Homemade natural remedies for skin rashes

Rashes can be triggered from underlying fungal, bacterial, or viral infections and in most cases, can be cured using some homemade recipes. If you have a rash that persists however, you should consult a doctor.
Rashes are frequently caused by problems like psoriasis, allergies, eczema, insect bites, acne, sweating, among other factors. Irritation from shampoos, cosmetics, soaps or detergents can also lead to rashes.
Curious? Here are some home remedies to get rid of rashes

1. Apple cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar may help with allergic reactions, dry skin, and itchy skin. You can use apple cider vinegar on a poison ivy rash by applying a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to the problem area. In fact, you can use a cotton compress with apple cider vinegar to allow it to continue to pull the toxins out of the skin.

2. Moisturizers
Moisturizers are a great home remedy for dry skin rashes. You can choose just about any good brand to help relieve your dry skin. To make your moisturizer even more soothing for your dry, rashy skin, keep your skin covered after you apply it. For instance, put on a moisturizer and wear socks for dry, rough feet.

3. Calamine Lotion
There’s a reason most mothers have a bottle of calamine lotion at home. The anti-itch medicine causes a soothing cooling feeling as it evaporates from your skin, making it a good remedy for an allergic reaction rash.

4. Use a cold compress
An allergic reaction on the skin usually shows up as a red, itchy rash. The skin can sometimes feel warm to the touch, and the symptoms appear when you come in contact with a substance that the skin mistakes for a threat. Soaps, moisturizers, and even clothing can cause an allergic reaction. Home remedies for allergic skin reactions are among the best treatments. You can use cool compresses to ease the pain and itchiness you feel and cause it to reduce.

5. Baking soda
Baking soda is useful in drying skin rashes as also in relieving itching and inflammation. Add one part baking soda to three parts water and apply on the affected area every day. Equally effective is a mixture of baking soda with some coconut oil for treating skin rashes. Do not leave baking soda on the skin for too long as it may cause further irritation.

6. Olive oil
Olive oil helps in healing and promotes skin renewal given it is packed with vitamin E and antioxidants. It also soothes the skin and reduces itching.
Rub extra-virgin olive oil or a combination of olive oil and honey on your rash a few times daily until it heals. Also add a pinch of turmeric powder to olive oil and apply it two or three times a day for a few days.
Turmeric is rich in antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which soothes rashes and relieves itching. Apart from olive oil, castor oil and coconut oil also help heal rashes naturally.

7. Oatmeal
When it comes to alleviating skin irritation and inflammation oatmeal serves as an effective option given its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties. It is particularly helpful in treating rashes triggered by poison ivy, eczema, chicken pox, sunburn and allergies.
Mix a cup of finely ground oatmeal in warm bath water and soak in it for at least 15 or 20 minutes. To treat rashes on the face, apply a mixture of equal amounts of oatmeal and plain yogurt mixed with a little honey.

8. Aloe Vera
Thanks to its antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and emollient properties, aloe vera is excellent for treating a number of skin ailments including rashes as also soothing the skin.
