The newly elected Chairman of physically challenged/persons living with Dissability in the State Executive Committee (SEC), of the Bayelsa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Austin Jonah, has commended major stakeholders of the party and delegates of the just concluded state congress for the mandate to serve.
Hon. Jonah, was elected along side 36 others to run the affairs of the party during the Saturday congress of the party held in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital.
Speaking with newsmen after the congress, Jonah, expressed gratitude to the leader of the Party in the state, Chief Timipre Sylva, for steering the affairs of the party and setting a standard of unity for other states and APC chieftains to emulate.
He reiterated that with the calibre of members of the state executive led by a season lawyer, politician and administrator, Barr. Dennis Otiotio, will reach out to all stakeholders and carry everyone along in the scheme of things.
He noted that the physically challenged persons which forms a core component of the society have thrown their weight solidly behind the leadership style of the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, in the affairs of the party in the state chapter.
Jonah, also express his appreciation to the two members of the Federal Assembly, Hon. Isreal Sunny-Goli, and Hon. Preye Oseke, and a former deputy National publicity Secretary, Hon. Yekini Nebena and other leaders for their recognition of the urgent need to break barriers and give the physically challenged persons a sense of belonging in the party.
Jonah, commended delegates for their peaceful disposition during and after the congress.
He also called on all the persons living with disability in the state devoid of party line to rally round him and give him all the necessary support to achieve the desired goals.
